A Month of Merriment:
As spring approaches, the Cowichan Valley comes alive with vibrant events and activities. Start the month out strong and immerse yourself in the flavours and stories behind our spirits in Merridale’s brand-new lounge. Sip on our Apple Ginger Fizz cocktail, made from our refreshing new seasonal Ginger Cider, while our story tellers guide you through the tasting experience, sharing insights into the craftsmanship behind each spirit and cocktail.
We have two enchanting walks: One offers a glimpse into our sustainable farming practices and local flora and fauna, while the other invites kids, and the young at heart, to search for the fairies said to tend our orchards and lend a hand in crafting our cider and spirits.
Spend your mornings hiking Cobble Hill Mountain or strolling along the historic Kinsol Trestle, where misty forests and sweeping valley views await. Explore the region’s vibrant arts scene by visiting local galleries or browse the Duncan Farmers’ Market for handcrafted goods and farm-fresh treats. It‘s one of the largest on Vancouver Island.
At Merridale, St. Patrick’s Day festivities start on the 15th from 1 – 4 pm with an adult only scavenger hunt. Solve riddles from Lyric the Leprechaun to uncover treasures in the orchard & Merridale spirits will be your reward! After, join us in the eatery for some of our St. Patrick’s inspired dishes, from the 14th to 17th. Savour the flavors of Ireland with dishes like Shepherd’s Pie, Irish Stew, and Toad in the Hole, all paired perfectly with a pint of cider for an authentic Irish experience. We will be offering this hunt on the 15th and 16th. Oh yes, don’t forget to wear green!
